Macro instruments for liver surgery
Open and minimally invasive liver surgery
In liver resections, surgeons face the challenge of removing tumors while protecting vessels and bile ducts. The ergonomic Macro instruments from Söring meet this challenge. They use both the cavitation as well as the mechanical effect of ultrasonic technology to reliably fragment liver parenchyma. Solid tissue structures of vessels and bile ducts remain largely unscathed.
Depending on the size, number and location of the tumor, resection can be performed either open surgery or laparoscopic. For the open surgical approach, Söring offers the Macro instruments without and with monopolar high-frequency (HF) coagulation function. In addition, laparoscopic procedures have gained popularity and now account for a significant proportion of all liver resections, and the trend is rising. For such a minimally invasive procedure, Söring offers the Macro instrument LUD with the thinnest outer sheath diameter in the world.
